A global producer of inorganic chemicals had two problems.
The first challenge was the rotary valves he was using did not consistently feed his powder bulk solid material into his process.
The second challenge was to increase their production up time by reducing maintenance time and increasing the automation of their process.
Sluggish Flowing Material need equipment capable of enhancing flowability.
The chemical producer’s raw materials and their finished products have sluggish flow properties; they need to have rotary valves capable of improving their materials flowability.
The valves also need to have features included in the design that gives feedback to their process control systems.
Conveying air blows through the rotor packets in a Model “BT” Rotary Valve design.
Because cohesive product tends to stick in the rotary valve’s pockets and changes its capacity, this company purchased, several sizes 8”, Model “BT” Blow-Thru Rotary Valves.
The Model “BT” Blow-Thru airlock has a convey line connection the bottom of the end plates. The conveying air blows through the valve rotor pockets sweeping the product into the conveying line.
Several valve features can increase the valve’s efficiency and process productivity.
- Adjustable rotor tips to adjust the clearance between the rotor and housing as the clearance open because of wear.
- An inspection door in the side of the housing for access to the adjustable rotor tips.
- A 1 HP, Inverter Duty, Premium efficient, TEFC motor so the feed rate can be controlled to match the process requirements.
- A purge connection with lantern rings in the packing gland area, pre-piped to a filter regulator with a solenoid valve to a single point hook-up.
- A zero motion switch is provided to monitor valve because it is in a remote area of the plant
Your products and processes are unique.
This global chemical producer purchased several of the Model “BT” Rotary Valves. Because their products are unique, and their process is unique, the airlock feeders they use need to be designed to meet particular requirements.
