High Capacity - Pellet Metering
Model RNHC
When your application demands precise pellet metering, Young Industries Model RNHC Rotary Valve delivers. The eight-vane rotor, ensures a constant two-blade seal for minimal air or gas leakage. And the precision-machined housing guarantees a tight fit, making it ideal for applications requiring pressure or vacuum sealing.
The Model RNHC Rotary Valve is your solution for the high-capacity metering of pellets and prills (1/16" to 1/4"). Its unique vertical drop-through design feature a pellet-flow inlet throat and rotor that virtually eliminates pellet clipping for a smoother, more consistent flow and reduced downtime.

The RNHC Rotary Valve delivers the control you need for variable speed and rate applications, ensuring accurate metering even in challenging environments. Our innovative inlet throat deflector guides pellets smoothly into a secondary set of rotor pockets, preventing shearing and jamming.
We offer a range of customizable features and options, allowing you to tailor the RNHC Valve to your exact needs. Whether you require high-pressure capabilities, specific materials of construction, or specialized coatings, we've got you covered.
And like all our rotary valves, we can customize the RNHC for high pressure, high temperature, or low leakage rate conditions. Because at Young Industries, special is our standard.
- Standard valve sizes range from 4" to 12", with larger sizes available upon request
- Heavy duty construction with 15 PSIG internal and differential pressure rating
- Fabricated construction of carbon steel, or 300 series stainless steel
- Standard design/operating temperature up to 250°F
- Round or square inlet and discharge flanges
- Outboard-mounted precision ball bearings
- Packing gland provides a tight rotor shaft seal with four rings of PTFE impregnated Kevlar
- Shrouded rotors
- End plates are piloted to assure concentricity of the housing so that tight internal clearances between rotor and housing is provided
- High internal pressure designs up to 150 PSIG
- Roller chain drive with parallel shaft TEFC driven gearmotor is standard with explosion proof motors of any specified manufacturer available
- Shaft mounted drive
- Special materials of construction including various grades of Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, or Titanium
- Interior polish or electro-polish per application requirement
- Special packing materials of graphite, food grade PTFE or as needed by process
- Interior coatings (to provide abrasive resistance and material release) include: hard chrome plating, nickel plating, tungsten carbide, Stellite, or Teflon
- Lantern ring with purge connection in the packing gland
- Rotor shaft mechanical seals
- Self-adjusting packing follower
- Shaft seal coatings
- Direct venting, with vent installed in the housing
- End-plate purges
- Side access/inspection panel for access to the rotor interior
